The Concept & Mood
Multifunctional Living & Bedroom Furniture
“Geom Mobili” is a testament to the power of thoughtful design in transforming living spaces. This award-winning multifunctional furniture concept, developed for the 2018 National Furniture Design Competition (CNDM) where it secured 3rd Place, redefines versatility and elegance for modern homes.
The core concept behind “Geom Mobili” stems from the desire to create practical furniture pieces, primarily for small spaces, utilizing modular forms that fulfill numerous functions. The product’s name is an abbreviation of “geometric,” with its final form drawing inspiration from the profound symbolism of the triangle.
My inspiration for this project was deeply rooted in Aristotle’s concept of the five elements (fire, earth, air, water, and aether), which, when combined, reflect infinite potential and divine creativity. By playing with these fundamental shapes, I aimed to imbue the furniture with a similar sense of versatile creation. The objective was to elevate the image of multifunctional furniture, transforming it into pieces with a distinctly “high-end” aesthetic. The visual appeal, through its chromatic palette and form, allows for its use in various spaces and harmonious integration with existing objects within a room.
The triangle, a fundamental geometric shape, embodies the concept of trinity in nature and spirituality. Across cultures, creation often arises from three fundamental aspects or force fields: action, reaction, and neutrality. Furthermore, the triangle represents the number 3, with its myriad connotations across various domains. In geometry, a planar shape requires three lines to be enclosed, and a solid form is defined by three dimensions: width, length, and height.

Material & Chromatic Palette
The “Geom Mobili” set is comprised of four (or optionally six, based on client request) stools and a central table. The stools are modular pieces, with two identical units each featuring a soft polyurethane foam seat upholstered in Riviera 96 velvet fabric (sourced from Davis.pl). The rigid base of the stools, along with the table legs and top, are crafted from stratified beech wood, finished with a high-gloss acrylic mirror paint (code 8533 BS, MG Macchiato – Pantone 4745 C).
The curved plywood components are precisely processed using 5-axis CNC machines, ensuring the final shape through cutting, milling, and drilling with utmost accuracy. Manual sanding is meticulously applied to achieve superior edge smoothness, even on highly intricate contours.
The four foldable elements attached to the tabletop are made from tempered glass with an aluminum frame, secured by hinges, adding a touch of sophisticated functionality.

Design Features & Ergonomics
“Geom Mobili” boasts multiple uses, fulfilling several functions: a coffee table with seating for 4 to 6 people, a bedside table, or a chest of drawers for the living room or bedroom. Its adaptability makes it suitable for various spaces, including living rooms, bedrooms, or even cafes.
Key functional and ergonomic features include:
Safety-Conscious Design: All furniture pieces feature chamfered corners, eliminating the risk of injury and making them suitable for spaces frequented by both adults and children.
Intuitive Interaction: The design incorporates intuitive interaction zones for opening, closing, and moving the furniture, enhancing user experience.
Magnetic Seating Attachment: The upholstered seat is securely attached to the stratified wooden surface via magnets to the seat cushion, ensuring stability while allowing for easy removal and reattachment.
Ergonomic Dimensioning: The furniture is dimensioned in accordance with body size, promoting a natural and comfortable posture.
Secure Drawers: The drawers are equipped with a mechanical locking system, ensuring stability and safety when the piece is used as seating.
Easy Assembly: The furniture pieces are comprised of a maximum of 3-6 components, making assembly after delivery remarkably simple.
Floor Protection: The underside of the stools is fitted with cylindrical feet (15mm diameter x 10mm height) to protect floors.
This project not only addresses the practical needs of compact living but also elevates the aesthetic appeal of multifunctional furniture, proving that high-end design can be both accessible and versatile.
